Yuck

First off, I know Yuck is a terrible band name. And I realize their logo and album cover are equally as juvenile and baseless.

However, these kids are championing the movement to bring back early 90's distortion-heavy rock and I am all for it. Flashes of Teenage Fanclub, Dionsaur Jr and Sonic Youth catch my ear as I listen to this debut album from Yuck.

Big thanks to the homie Del LeFevre for putting me onto these guys.

Yuck is also playing at The Echo tonight if you are in LA if your don't already have plans to glare dreamily at Win Butler or rub elbows with Diddy at a Grammy Party.

Arbouretum - The White Bird

Creep - Days

Ford & Lopatin (formerly GAMES)- Planet Party

Slovak Republic - Summer Pills

Houston's Slovak Republic play some excellent whiny shoegaze in the vein of Tamaryn. I wonder if they drink sizzurp.
