Volta Cab

Hailing from mother Russia, this kid Volta Cab is really getting me through the work day today. Like his fellow countryman Xuman, Valerie-esque dreamwave is what he specializes in.

Check out a few tracks below, apparently his debut EP will be released in May just in time for you to throw the top down in your ride and enjoy the summer night.

Freeway & Jake One - The Stimulus Package

I have been looking forward to this release for some time now. The combination of the grimy lyrics by the Philly Freezer himself and Jake One's smooth production makes this album quite a treat for hip hop heads.

Two Door Cinema Club - Tourist History

After loving the Phoenix-ish leading single "Something Good Can Work" all last year, I was eager to hear the new full length from Two Door Cinema Club (or TDCC as music nerds call them). Tourist History is actually a pretty damn solid effort from the Irish trio. Check out a few of the tracks below.

TDCC plays The Troubadour on Cinco de Drinko, grab some tix aqui.

Active Child

Active Child is Pat Grossi, an LA kid who makes lush music that sounds much like the sonic offspring of Bon Iver and M83.

I saw him play last night at Spaceland and was really impressed by his live show. Not only did his falsetto voice sound great, but he managed to play keyboards, guitar and an actual old wooden harp in his 30 minute set.

Be on the lookout for more from Active Child, the place was packed with influential music biz people last night.
